Multiple patients were harmed and killed because of the policies in place during the "COVID pandemic" for the Centra lIllinois Region at UnityPoint Health. Doctors at Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois ordered "COVID patients" to be intubated before they were transferred from smaller hospitals such as Pekin Hospital in Pekin, Illinois. Just pull the EMR/patient charts for the patients in the emergency room that had needle cricothyrotomies before transfer to Methodist Hospital. This was done because the patients crashed while the Emergency Department staff unsuccessfully tried to intubate the "COVID patients" for transfer. At the beginning of the "pandemic," Pekin Hospital was not allowed to admit any "COVID patients "who required more than 4 L/min of oxygen or had a BMI of greater than 40. Also, pull the records of the number of Rapid Responses and Cardiac Arrests for the time of the "COVID pandemic." Pekin Hospital has an average census of 30-35 patients admitted at all times, but the number of RRTs and Cardiac Arrests are very large. The turnover for the last three years has been incredibly high. If a "COVID patient" or their family did not consent to the patient being intubated for transfer to Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois, Kami Colvin (Director of Nursing) and Alyssa Naslund (Nurse Manager for the Critical Care Unit) called Risk Management to meet with the patient. If the patient or family still refused intubation and transfer, Kami Colvin and Alyssa Naslund called the Legal Department to meet with the patient. If the patient or family still refused intubation and transfer, Kami Colvin and Alyssa Naslund called to have the patient undergo a psychological evaluation. Family members of "COVID patients" were encouraged to change their loved one's status to "comfort care with Morphine and Ativan orders" because only "COVID patients" on comfort measures were allowed visitors. If any staff questioned the policies, their employment was terminated or they were targeted until they quit. In February 2020, UnityPoint Health Pekin Hospital started using telehealth doctors. These doctors were from outside the UnityPoint Health System, and they lived around the world including Israel. Dr. David E. Katz, one of the regular telehealth physicians on the nightshift, was from Walter Reed Medical Center with a background in vaccines. Why would a super small hospital in the middle of nowhere change doctors for the "COVID pandemic" and have doctors from Israel and backgrounds including Walter Reed Medical Center? Pekin Hospital did not even get a portable Airvo machine until September 9, 2021. That means that all patients that required higher levels of oxygenation such as BIPAP had to be intubated before transport to Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. No intubated "COVID patients" were allowed to stay a Pekin Hospital for care according to the region's policies. As recently as May 25, 2022, Kami Colvin and Alyssa Naslund were posting a sign outside the nursing unit on a white board for all families and visitors to please consider using a virtual visit instead of visiting their patients in person. This was for all visitors, not just visitors of "COVID patients." A lot of harm was done to patients under the guise of the "COVID pandemic." The Central Illinois UnityPoint Health leadership (CEO Keith Knepp, CNO Jeanine Spain, Corporate Compliance Officer Cindy Hale)were the ones making these decisions. In the Peoria area, Dr. Doug Casper is an Infectious Disease Physician from OSF St. Francis. During the entire "pandemic" he was on the WMBD1470 radio morning show each Tuesday heavily promoting the COVID vaccines to the Central Illinois Region. The show was re-aired each Wednesday morning in full. The people listed above need to held accountable for their actions! |
